Albert LaVon Liston

March 11, 1934 ~ April 28, 2018

In the late afternoon of April 28th, our beloved exemplar and patriarch of the Liston family graduated from this 2nd estate and returned home to be with his Heavenly Father and loved ones on the other side of the veil.  He was born in Salina, Utah to LeVon Reeves Liston and Lydia Ebba Larson, being the fourth child with  two brothers and four sisters; their names being: Jay, Vernon, Charlotta, Janet, Deanna and Vickey.

He loved his family and together they learned to work hard on their farm.  He graduated from North Sevier High School, served his Country in the Army for two years and graduated from Utah State University.

While at the University he met his sweetheart Norma Rae Cragun. They married in the Logan, Utah L.D.S Temple on August 14, 1959.  They were blessed with six wonderful Children,

Albert was a quiet, gentle soul who was well respected by his family and all those who knew him.  He loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ and had the opportunity to prove his love through holding many callings such as Scout Leadership, President of the Young Men’s Association, Ward Clerk, Counselor in the Bishopric, and Bishop.  He fulfilled five L.D.S missions in his lifetime. His first mission was in the Northern States when he was young and the other missions he was able to serve with his sweetheart. They had the privilege of serving in the Singapore Mission, Florida “Deseret Ranch” Mission, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Mission, Ben Lomond Fruit Orchard, L.D.S Conference Center, and a Church History Mission in Salt Lake City.  They also served as Ordinance Workers in the Ogden and Orlando Temples.  Such wonderful experiences they have had.

His occupations were an Industrial Arts Teacher in the Weber County School District and a Fruit Farmer which involved many of the youth and citizens in the Pleasant View area.

He leaves behind his wife, 26 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, and his six children; Eric (Janie), Todd (Kara), Bruce (Shauna), Lesa (Brent), Laurel (McKell), and Jill (Vern).

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Pleasant View 12th Ward Chapel, 900 West Pleasant View Drive.  Family will meet with friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

We want to thank Dr. Van Christiansen, the V.A. with Dr. Fritinger, the Staff at Care Givers, and especially his Grandson “Jared South” for all the help and concern given to his Grandpa the last years of his life.

Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
