Barbara Ann Bingham

December 20, 1930 ~ August 17, 2015

Barbara Ann Bingham, passed away at age 84, on August 17, 2015.  She passed away with a smile on her face and love in her heart for those she would reunite with in the hereafter, her husband of 65 years, Dee, her son Rex who passed away last month, and her mother who passed away when she was three years old.

She was the daughter of George Baron Lee and Elva Mae Perry. Barbara was born on December 20, 1930 and she spent her childhood in Malad, Idaho.  She served in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington Terrace 9 ^th Ward.

Barbara was a substitute teacher for 46 years at Bonneville High School.  Barbara continued to teach until April of 2015 when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  No matter where Barbara went, she always encountered someone she had taught during those 46 years.  She was always known and referred to as “Grandma” by her students.

She wanted to express gratitude to all Bonneville High students and faculty, ward members, neighbors, and friends for the kindness always shown to her.

Barbara will be greatly missed by her family, Reed and Areta Bingham, Rex and Debbie Bingham, Terry and Jay Spendlove, Diane and Curtis Larkin, and Debbie and Kim Cherry.  Barbara had 27 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren with seven more on the way.  She knew every one of them individually and always remembered and celebrated everyone’s birthday.  Christmas was always a big family celebration and her story telling was a family tradition.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Washington Terrace 9 ^th Ward, 125 East 5350 South.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
