Carmen Guy “Bud” Tice
Carmen Guy "Bud" Tice passed on June 13, 2016, just one day after his 93rd birthday, which he spent with his family. Bud was one of three children born to his father, Guy George Tice and mother, Gertrude Wagner Tice. His older sister, Phyllis Thomas and his younger brother, Guy Leslie Tice, preceded him in death, along with both his parents and his stepmother, May Tice.
Bud married Dorothy Taylor Tice on July 30th of 1945. They had five children, Jerry Tice (Sue Tice), Craig Tice, Carma Tice, Patricia Ann Tice (David Biggs) and Janae Tice (Brian Gottfredson). Bud and Dorothy were blessed with several grand and great grandchildren. Of the many things that Bud and Dorothy were proud of, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, took center stage.
When, in 2009, Dorothy passed, Bud continued on with courage and fortitude that he showed throughout his life.
Bud was a veteran of the Second World War wherein he saw duty in Africa and Italy, servicing planes that helped win that conflict. After the war, he came home to marry his sweetheart, Dorothy, and moved, initially to San Francisco and took a job laying cable in the San Francisco Bay. Later, he came home to Utah and began a successful home construction firm. It is at this time that he built his home in Kaysville, Utah, where his oldest son, Jerry and his family reside.
Bud's last employment was with the Federal Government, inspecting homes prior to their resale to the public.
Bud's love, besides his family, was golf and hunting. He spent many happy hours doing both activities with his family and his friends.
Bud Tice was blessed with a winning personality and the ability to be happy and see the good in almost every situation. In his last years he was never negative about his infirmities and kept that happy disposition throughout his final illness. We, the family of Bud Tice, will miss him and hope for the day when we may experience his presence, again.
