Christopher Bost

July 20, 1959 — April 14, 2020

Christopher Raymond Bost (60) passed away in his home in West Haven, Utah on April 14, 2020 due to natural causes.

Christopher was born in Long Beach, California to Robert and Barbara (Lodge) Bost on July 20, 1959. He attended high school at Robinson High, FL where he was on the wrestling team. Christopher received his high school diploma from the state of North Carolina in 1979.

Christopher entered Army basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky in November 1976. Following basic, he went to infantry school and jump school at Fort Benning, GA where he earned his jump wings. Christopher’s 18-year military career with the Army and Air Force was spent as a Parachute Rigger. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, NC, 508th TAC Fighter Group, HAFB, UT, and the 19th Special Forces Group, Camp Williams, UT.

Christopher was an outdoor enthusiast with an adventurous soul. He spent most of his day’s scuba diving, backpacking through Southern Utah, star gazing, camping and skiing at Pebble Creek. Christopher loved the Escalante Mountains and visited them often. Christopher’s childhood friend from Florida, Nancy Phillips Krill, remembered how much he loved the Doobie Brothers.

Christopher’s pride and joy was his horse, Sunrise, who he called “Little Buddy”. He was passionate about horses and when his nieces and nephews came to visit, he enjoyed teaching them how to saddle and ride a horse.

Christopher is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara (Lodge) Bost and his sister, Danielle Louise Bost.

He is survived by his father, Robert Haskell Bost, brother, Robert (Darline) Bost, sisters Michelle (Carlos) Elizondo, Yvonne (Mathew) Martinez, nieces Haley (Eric) Lish, Raquel (Shad) Vanderstappen, Danielle Martinez, Madison Bost, Erica Martinez, Elizabeth Bost, nephews Joshua Bost, Robert Joseph Bost, Jacob Elizondo, and many great nieces and nephews and friends.

Christopher will be deeply missed by those who knew him. But we know in our hearts he was greeted with love by his mother, Barbara who he loved dearly. We will continue his legacy through our shared love for the outdoors.  Until we meet again, Uncle Christopher. Rest in Paradise.

Due to the current circumstances, a celebration of life for Christopher will be held at a date.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
