Debra Wilcox Allen

May 1, 1953 ~ February 17, 2018

Debra Wilcox Allen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the age of 64 due to complications from surgery.

Debbie was a remarkable energetic woman who had so much love in her heart for everyone. Mom never met a stranger and made friends easily. She was a selfless mother that will be deeply missed, especially by her grandchildren, they were the pride and joy in her life. She was everyone's friend and had the sense of humor to brighten anyone's day. She had a zest for living and was the life of any party. There was no better cheerleader for her children and grandchildren.

Debbie was born in Ogden, Utah on May 1, 1953 to Dr. Milton Farr and Eva Jean Wilcox. She was raised in South Ogden with an adventurous spirit. She had a passion for water activities and playing the piano and the organ. She graduated from Bonneville High School and later attended Weber State College and BYU where she was on the diving team, later receiving her associate’s degree at Idaho State University.

Debbie was married on August 11, 1972 in the backyard of her childhood South Ogden home to Billy Keith Allen, they were later divorced. They had two sons together Shawn and Cody that were her strength and purpose in life.  In 1975 Debbie was sealed with her family in the Washington D.C. Temple.

Debbie was a miracle and through her unconquerable determination recovered and beat medical odds at the age of 22. She was determined not to let the accident define who she was. She never gave up and conquered things that were unimaginable. She lived a life that brought immense joy to her family and friends.

Debbie worked as an administrative assistant to the superintendent of Davis County Schools. Debbie later worked at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and through her amazing personality and spirit brought comfort and joy to those who were going through the most difficult times in their lives.

She loved to garden and spent many hours in her yard in Clearfield where she called home for the last 40 years.

She touched the lives and hearts of countless people, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two sons, Shawn Wilcox (Jenny) Allen of Roy and Cody Keith (Shawna) Allen of West Point; grandkids, Brynley Allen-4 (Shawn and Jenny’s daughter)  Parker Allen-13, Sariah Allen-10 and Carter Allen-6 (Cody and Shawna's children); siblings, Leslie Wilcox Hegstrom of South Ogden, Pam (Greg) O'Toole of St. George, Jon and Cheryl Wilcox of South Ogden, and Lisa Wilcox Wamsley of Layton.  Many dear friends and family members mourn her loss. Preceded in death by her loving parents, Dr. Milton Farr and Eva Jean Wilcox and great-nephew, Beckett Wallace.
