Dennis John Ball

July 26, 1940 ~ March 1, 2015

Dennis John Ball, loving and loyal husband, father and grandfather, age 74, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 of complications from and after a long struggle with COPD.  He was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

He was born on July 26, 1940 in Brazil, Indiana, son of James L. and Virginia Hunsaker Ball.  He was married to Bong Nyo and later divorced.  He married Trudy Vockler on April 18, 1985 in Maui, Hawaii and were married for 29 happy years.

Dennis served in the US Army for 24 years, and was honorably discharged on July 1, 1979.  He served in many locations around the world in many positions and retired as an Army recruiter.  Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and made it a priority that his children were raised with the Gospel in their lives.  He was a life member of AMVETS and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed spending time at the Eagles Family Meadows.  After retiring from the Army he utilized his talent for sales and sold cars and RV's and also owned the Legion Club.  Dennis enjoyed bowling with his wife and watching TV and arm chair quarterbacking while watching sports. He was the maestro of remote.  Dennis loved spending time with his family, especially Sunday family dinners and gatherings.

Dennis is survived by his wife Trudy, 5 children: Dennis Ball,Jr., David Ball(Roxanne), Sandra Carpenter(Larry), Casey Lerner(Susie), Tracy Collins(Jamie);11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: James Ball(Karen), John Wheeler.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and 1 nephew and 1 sister in law.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the McKay Dee IMC staff, especially Heather and also a special thanks to his personal nurse and granddaughter Chanel Warner.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
