Diane Elizabeth (Kearns) Newman
June 6, 1953 - May 15, 2016

LAYTON - Diane Elizabeth Newman, 62 years old, left this earth May 15, 2016.  She was in the hospital for 10 weeks and 4 weeks at the home to continue to heal.  She passed at home of respiratory failure.

Diane was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Evelyn Wozny and (deceased) Robert Kearns, June 6, 1953.

David and Diane met in Sunday school and were married in the Los Angeles Temple, July 11, 1980 and enjoyed 36 years together. They lived in Azusa, California, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, San Antonio, Texas, and Layton, Utah.

Diane was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Park West Ward, West Layton Stake.

Diane worked at the Standard-Examiner for 17 years and enjoyed working in the Digital, Ad Graphic and Advertising Departments through the years.

One of her great loves was reading, and playing games on her tablet. She also enjoyed doing crafts.

She is survived by her children, Christopher David Newman, Layton; Jeffrey Alan Newman, Roy; and (His) Brian Howell Newman, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road
