Donald James Wilson

Donald James Wilson “Whip”, age 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on June 17, 2016. Don was born in Ogden, Utah on May 4, 1935 to Walter Sylvester Wilson and Mary Ann Bennington.
Don grew up in Ogden where he was educated in Ogden City Schools. As a youth he enjoyed playing sports. Don married Beth Peek on September 14, 1963 in South Weber, Utah. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After leaving the army he worked at Hill Air Force Base. After retiring from Hill Air Force Base he drove bus for Davis County School District. Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he held various positions. He was currently a member of the South Weber Pioneer Ward. He enjoyed sports, gardening, and wood working.
Don is survived by his wife, Beth; son, Matt (Nancy) Wilson of Farr West; grandchildren, Sam, Emma, Sophia, and Ava; sister-in-law, Gay Wilson; and brothers-in-law, Ray (Karen, deceased) Peek and Vern (Marilyn) Peek.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph Wilson, Lawrence Wilson and Frank Wilson; and sisters, Mary DeBoer, Maxien Nicholls, and Bea Olsen.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Uintah City Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
