Donna Rae Carver

9/24/1928 ~ 2/10/2014

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Donna Rae Baker Carver, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2014, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Mom was born on September 24, 1928 in Roy, Utah, to Abraham Arnold Baker and Lena Annette Nettie Polson. She was the youngest of seven children: Tressa, Carold, Thelda, Thurn, Lewis, Arlene, and Donna.

Mom grew up in the Ogden area, attending Ogden High School and Weber College. She married Charles Douglas Carver on August 27, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dad passed away on March 31, 1998.

Mom and Dad have seven children: Anna Lee Farber (Rob) of West Covina, CA; Brad (Marion) of West Jordan; Tim (Genie) of Layton; Kerry Humphreys (Michael) of Pleasant View; Kelly (Shelley) of Pleasant View; Sean (Alison) of Pleasant View; and Casey (Cecelia) of Woodbridge, VA. She has 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she taught Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary. Her Primary children always considered her their grandmother. She loved the many warm and caring members of her ward.

Mom served as a worker at the Ogden LDS Temple where she made many wonderful friends. She also enjoyed the friendships she made while working for many years at Hill Air Force Base.

Mom was an avid reader who especially loved history and connected with her own history as a member of the Camp Silver Sage Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved attending plays, sewing, golfing, camping, fishing, and traveling with her family. Her greatest joy, she always said, was being with her family.

She didn’t raise perfect kids, but she was a perfect mom. YOU ARE OUR SWEETHEART, MOM!

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, all siblings except Thurn, and her great-granddaughter Cali Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 12th Ward Chapel, 900 West Pleasant View Drive.
