Douglas Egbert

August 2, 1956 — July 28, 2018

Douglas Allen Egbert

Douglas Allen Egbert, August 2, 1956 - July 28, 2018.  Our hearts are broken to announce the unexpected passing of an amazing, son, son in-law, brother, brother in-law, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

Doug is survived by his wife, Sandy, son and daughter in-law, TJ and Darby, and grand-daughter, Lily. He is also survived by his parents Annette Egbert and Jerry (Sue) Egbert, mother in-law Gwenn (Ron) Dickson, siblings Brad (Denece) Egbert, Jeff Egbert, Lisa Egbert, sister in-law Sheryl (Sonny) Thompson, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Doug graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1975.  He received an athletic scholarship to the University of Montana to play football for the Griz.  Doug earned his degree in Business Administration and graduated in 1981.

After completing college, Doug worked as a loan officer in the mortgage banking industry, and then joined the family tradition and became a United States Postal Carrier. Doug loved being part of one of the most trusted professions and loved his brothers and sisters in blue for the past 28 years.

Doug met the love of his life in March of 1983.  He and Sandy were married on August 18, 1984 and have been inseparable, best friends, for 35 years.  They supported one another hand in hand through thick and thin and enjoyed their life together to the fullest.

Doug became a grandfather and was amazed by the feelings of love and joy towards his first grandchild.  He had so many plans that he wanted to do with her like to teach her how to play golf and spoil her with his love. Doug wanted to show her where to get the best milkshakes and hamburgers.

Doug loved living life to the fullest.  He loved skiing with his brother Jeff and getting to know new friends at Snow Basin.  Doug loved floating the Green River with Jeff and had many fun plans to do more with his buddies from the Post Office.

Doug loved his son more than anything.  The great times coaching TJ and his team members were one of his life highlights.  He was so proud of TJ's accomplishments in life.  Doug was most proud of TJ's incredible love as a father and watching him with his sweet daughter Lily brought so much joy and heartfelt comfort to him.

Life moving forward will never be the same. The light in his eyes, the warmth from his heart, and the beautiful smile will be a memory missed by all.  He was kind and loving to everyone.  Doug gave the best hugs and always told his loved ones how much he loved them.  Here's to you Dougie - "love ya!"
