Douglas Earl Harper

Douglas Earl Harper passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017. He was born on August 14, 1949 to Lewis and Bonnie Fay Webb Harper in Ogden, UT.
Douglas Earl Harper graduated from Bonneville High School with the class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, Doug joined the United States Army and fought for his country as a member of the 101st Airborne in the Vietnam War. He served from October 1967 to June of 1969. He was proud of his accomplishment of completing paratrooper school and becoming a member of the 101st Airborne. Achievements from his service also included Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, 101st Airborne Paratrooper, and Purple Heart.
After coming home, Doug married his first wife, Christine Doxey and had Brooke and Brady. They were later divorced and he married Michelle Russell and had Jackie Russell Coahran.
Doug later graduated from Weber State University in 1990 with a Bachelor Degree of Integrated Studies with an emphasis in Sociology/Criminology. A proud accomplishment for Doug, of a goal started many years prior.
Doug was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a High Priest, loving his service at the Ogden LDS Temple with his good friend Charlie Langeveld.
Dad loved the Shadow Valley Ward and his family is forever grateful for what they have done for him.
He enjoyed skiing, golfing, sports cars, landscaping, and his beloved dogs Meadow and Little Bear.
Doug spent most of his career as the owner/operator of Harper Hydroseeding which provided well for his family.
Doug is survived by his son, Brady Harper; daughters, Jackie Russell Coahran and Brooke Carnan Harper; two grandchildren; mother, Bonnie Fay Harper; brothers, Dennis (Frankie) Harper and Kent (Cheryl) Harper; sisters, Denise (Clark) Boren and Viki Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Earl Harper; and sister, Dana Hunter. He will be greatly missed by his nephew and many nieces.
