John Elliott Webster
KAYSVILLE – Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John Elliott Webster, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, February 12, 2014, the day following his 61 st wedding anniversary to his life-long companion, Diane. They were blessed with five children, Robert, Valorie, Jeffrey, Shauna, and Tyler. Dad always expressed his appreciation for his children and their accomplishments. He left a legacy of honesty and hard work.
John Elliott was born on July 2, 1931 in Kaysville, Utah to Golden and Elma Webster. He was the oldest of three children. He attended Davis High School and Brigham Young University. He served an LDS mission in the Western States; where he met the love of his life, Diane GaNae Jones. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 11, 1953.
John Elliott was a life-long farmer/rancher in West Kaysville on the family farm. He also worked for Deseret Mills where he retired after 40 years of faithful service.
John Elliott remained a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Serving as Elder’s Quorum President, Counselor in the Bishopric, and High Priest Group Leader, as well as, numerous other callings. He truly loved the Lord, and had an unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In his spare time Elliott enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, spending time at the cabin, snowmobiling, and spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved cheering for the Utah Jazz and enjoyed his many visitors.
He is survived by his loving eternal companion, Diane, and five children, Robert Webster, Maui, daughter-in-law Denese Webster, Kaysville; Valorie (Lee) Laursen, Kearns; Jeffrey (Lynda) Webster, Kaysville; Shauna (Gary) Maynard, Kaysville; and Tyler (Cherilyn) Webster, Kaysville; 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, his sister Golda Waldron, Salt Lake City; and brother, Paul Webster, Kaysville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family wishes to express their thanks to his many caregivers, neighbors, ward members, and friends, especially to our sweet mother who unselfishly, and unceasingly cared for our father the last years of declining health.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street, Kaysville. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
