Juanita Irene Colyar Taylor, 89, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015.
She was born December 19, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Julian Pierson Colyar and Sarah Elizabeth Stark. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Utah State University.
On November 10, 1948, Juanita married Robert Loran Taylor in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have been married a few weeks short of 67 years.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary for many years. She also served in the Relief Society and as Relief Society President.
Juanita loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After Bob retired they traveled throughout the United States in their motor home. They also traveled to many foreign countries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, Scott Hamblin, Lindsay Hamblin, Julie Ann Wagner, two sisters, Vivian Colyar, Darlene Ames, and one brother, Justin P. Colyar.
Juanita is survived by her husband, their children, Janet (Paul) Wagner, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Sandra (Curt) Hamblin, Vineyard, UT; Kenneth (Patricia) Taylor, Syracuse, UT; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Delphia Colyar, Norma Brown, and Trudy Daich.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
