Karen Kapp Montgomery
Karen Kapp Montgomery was born February 19, 1960 to Garey and Carolyn Pat Kapp. She was the fourth of six children. While attending Ogden High School, Karen met her husband John Aus Montgomery and together they raised five beautiful children. They later divorced.
Karen was a diligent and loving mother. While raising her children she worked her way through college and graduated with her Bachelor’s of Nursing Science from Weber State University. Her children have very fond memories of attending college courses with her as she balanced her work and her family. Her dedication to her family and her career proved fruitful as she graduated with a perfect GPA.
Karen is known for her craft. She was a dedicated nurse who loved her profession. She was skilled and competent working in surgical services and in intensive care. Later in Karen’s career, she had the opportunity to travel as a nurse. She found pride in offering her skill to different surgical facilities across the Western US.
Grandma Karen never missed a birthday and Christmas was always over the top. She had a very special relationship with each of her eight grandkids. Grandma had the best sleepovers. She was always down for a good dance party. Most of all, she loved reading with her grandkids. Grandma Karen had an exuberant love for her grandbabies: Ella Dawn, Kambree Ruth, Macall Marie, Beckett Wells, Alyssa Rae, Brynn Loren, Emmett Jack, and Crue Faye.
Karen is survived by her children: John (Morgan) Montgomery, Jared (Carlee) Montgomery, Brooke Montgomery, Andrea Montgomery, and Amanda Montgomery. She is also survived by her loving father Garey Kapp and her five siblings: Scott (Marion) Kapp, Kera (Bob) Atmore, LesLee (Kirk) Robinson, Kelly (Tony) Colvin, and Dawnette (Daniel) Bellinfante. She was received by her sweet mother who passed away eight years ago to the date. We know there was divine intervention that allows us to find peace in Karen’s passing.
Karen was always on the move. She was known for walking “the block” in Liberty. Throughout her life had a great love for hiking and was active in multiple hiking clubs.
