Karen Geaniel Beesley Price
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend Karen Geaniel Beesley Price passed away on December 14, 2021 in Bountiful, UT surrounded by loved ones.
Karen was born to David and Geaniel Vincent Beesley on October 9, 1940 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT. She was raised in Provo with her siblings Wayne, Richard, Rebecca, as well as close family members Janice Chipman Gilchrist, Geaniel Chipman Hubbard, and Renae Redelk. To those who knew her, Karen was a dear friend and kept in close contact with childhood friends her entire life.
While attending the University of Utah, Karen met Russell Dale Price. They were married September 1, 1960 and raised four children: David, Derek, Katherine, and Ginny. During their 61 years together, Russ and Karen lived in Cottonwood Heights, American Fork and Bountiful, UT.
Karen was incredibly artistic and creative, and painted in acrylics or oils for most of her life. She was proud of the fact that she returned to school to complete her degree in Graphic Design from Utah Valley State College. In many ways, her creative side was also expressed through her beautiful home and yard which she maintained with great care.
Karen loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit nearly every continent on the globe. She was always one to seek out new experiences and viewpoints, and held each different culture and custom she encountered in high esteem. Her endless curiosity and love of learning will be an enduring part of her legacy.
Spending time outdoors was another thing Karen loved to do. Many fond memories were made around the campfire and during good-natured fishing competitions with her grandchildren—which she always enjoyed winning!
Being a grandmother and great-grandmother was one of Karen’s greatest joys in life, and she worked tirelessly to make sure each of them knew they were loved and cherished. She went to great lengths to provide experiences that would result in lasting memories and strengthen familial bonds—a quality that has truly made a lasting impact on her loved ones and will continue to do so for many years to come. Whether it was a family vacation or simple card game, Karen prioritized spending quality time with those she loved.
Karen’s warmth, hospitality, and graciousness were unmatched. Anyone who entered her home was immediately welcomed with open arms and attended to with care. Karen was an ideal example of selflessness and generosity, always making sure others were comfortable and taken care of before doing anything for herself.
Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Ginny Jensen; siblings Wayne Beesley, Rebecca Beesley, Janice Chipman Gilchrist; and her parents, David and Geaniel Beesley. She is survived by her husband Russell and her children David Price, Derek (Robyn) Price, Katherine Meatoga, and Nate Jensen. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her boundless love, vibrant spirit, and wry sense of humor will be greatly missed.
A memorial gathering in Karen’s honor will take place from 6:00-8:00 P.M. December 29 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E Bountiful, UT.
