Our hearts are broken, only 2 1/2 months after diagnosis, Metastatic Melanoma (yes, skin cancer) took her from us.

Kathy made the most of her life. Her energy was boundless. Her love was endless. The twinkle in her eye, warm smile and infectious laugh was shared with everyone who crossed her path.

Her greatest accomplishment in this life was not what she had, but what she gave, not her success but her significance,

she created a close knit family and taught us all that the best things in life are not things, but love.

This held true by example in her love for her husband Hal; it could be seen in everything she did for him and with him.

They shared many fun adventures together but Lake Powell and Flaming Gorge hold the most memories and were her favorite places on Earth.

The “Mom” in our mom and dad dynamic duo, always seemed to make things better. We always felt her constant, never ending love no matter what and conversations always ended with “Love you more” We also knew the grandma face, as Dad called it, when grandkids were with her nothing else in the world existed but them in that moment.

Kathy was the Amazing Wife of Hal Garlick. Loving Mother of Shirley (Scott) Sheffield, Julie (Paul) Mettler, Richard (Jen) Garlick, Julie Garlick, Roger (Rhonda) Garlick, Mike (Tammy) Garlick. And the most Awesome Grandma to 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, as well as the friend of many...

A Memorial and Celebration of her story will be held Saturday November 17, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E.

One of her final requests was that the importance of early detection and treatment of this evil sneaky Cancer be shared with anyone who will listen and to tell all that the new tan is pale, wear your sunscreen and cover up.
