Keith Robinson

November 26, 1960 — June 6, 2020

Sergeant Keith W. Robinson, 59, passed away at home from medical complications on Saturday, June 6, 2020.

A United States Marine Corps veteran of 10 years, Keith served during the Beirut bombing in Lebanon. The Marine Corps was his first love. OOH-RAH!

Keith was born on November 26, 1960 in Columbus, OH to Raymond and Janora Robinson. His family later moved to Portsmouth, NH where he graduated from Portsmouth High School where he fostered his love for all things sports.

After finishing high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in July of 1979. He served in many locations throughout the world including Lebanon, South Korea, Italy, Egypt and many more. His service ended when he was medically discharged in 1988.

During his time of service, he became heavily involved in the United States Marine Corps Track and Field team which is how he met Jackie Yaeger. They married on July 18, 1987 in La Habra, CA and had two children, Nick and Sarah. They later separated but remained good friends.

Keith worked at the University of Utah as a medical assistant in various specialties where his love for the Utes grew. During his time working at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center, he began his years long pursuit of his future wife Julianne. They later married on August 7, 2009 in Syracuse, UT and lived in Roy.

He loved to attend the Ute and Wildcat football games and was a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Here are a few of his favorite things: Pinterest; online shopping, especially for all things Nike; Pitch Perfect and Drumline; Gospel Music; wheelchair dancing; flirting with the Ortho girls; seafood; cooking; golf and bowling; WWE and the Food Network; coloring; and Diet Mtn. Dew.

In 2013, Keith gained a love and faith for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized that year. Keith and Julianne were later sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple on October 18, 2014.

Keith especially loved being a Papa to Jaxon, Creedence and Hayden as well as Uncle KeeKee to Ollie and Chloe. Little kids loved him and his scooter rides.

Later in his life, Keith’s health declined and he had to undergo many surgeries, five years of dialysis, a right-leg amputation, and a kidney transplant in 2018. He still found many ways to serve his community including volunteering for the American Red Cross Service to Armed Forces. He also competed in the National Veterans Wheelchair games from 2017-2019.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Julie Robinson; his son Nick Robinson and daughter Sarah Robinson; his three step-sons Chase (Shalee) Grover, Cameron Grover, and Corbin Grover; his three grandchildren; his step-mother Sandy Robinson (New Hampshire); his brother Warren Robinson (New Hampshire); and many others.

A Memorial Gathering will take place on Friday, June 12 from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, UT 84067. We invite all who would like to honor him and his family to attend.
