Kenneth Russell Keyes
Kenneth Russell Keyes was born October 10, 1960 to Thomas Russell and Wilma Clauson Keyes, in the Dee Memorial Hospital in Ogden, Weber County, Utah. Due to cancer, he graduated from this life on Monday, April 17, 2017. He fought but lost a valiant fight. He died at home in Syracuse, Davis, Utah.
He was a long-haul truck driver for many years, both as an independent trucker, and also driving and dispatching for Dredge Trucking Company, and driving for Wanship Trucking. He enjoyed his travels from coast to coast, all of the sights in between, and eventually he got to see most of this country.
He was mechanically gifted, from age 12 tearing apart a mini-bike, and reassembling it a month later, to more recently working on many snowmobiles, ATV's cars and trucks.
He lived in Ogden, UT, Poughkeepsie, NY, Boulder, CO, Somers, NY, San Jose, CA, West Point, UT, Mt. Victory, OH, (where he built his own home), and near Ovid, ID, and finally in Syracuse, UT.
While in Ohio he was married, and helped raise his three stepchildren, Bill (Carolyn) and Nick (Juliani) Clauson, and Tyler Adams. Despite his divorce he has maintained a loving relationship with his kids, and grandchildren Alex, Caio, Brenden, Gabriel, Lelah, and Emma.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mel and Ruby Clauson, Lew and Hazel Wheat, and his sister Lauri Coffey. It must be a joyous reunion in the Spirit World.
He is survived by his parents, and a brother Mike (Julie) Keyes and his loving nieces, Kaitland, Marissa, Erin, Leah, and Amberlee.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
