Kiyoko Kudo Yamada passed away in Zionsville, IN on April 23, 2021. She was born to Kingoro Kanemi Kudo and Kiku Akihama Kudo on March 2, 1923 in Tokyo, Japan.

After attending public school and business school, she worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then the Ministry of Finance.  She lived in Japan until 1952 when she accompanied Col. P. B. Foote and his family to the Philippines, taking care of their daughter, Bonnie.  In October of 1953, she went with them to Hill AFB in Utah.

She married Masaru (Mas) Yamada on Jan. 8, 1955 and became a naturalized citizen on Nov. 18, 1958.  They were blessed with two daughters. Julie Keiko (Paul) Kimura of Parker, CO and LoRee Yoko ( Wallace) Crandall of Zionsville, IN and eight grandchildren (Alysse and Rykar Kimura, Andrew (Schiphrah) Crandall, Sara (Tyler) George, Nathan, Katheryn, Matthew and Emma  Crandall)

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to read, paint, make various crafts and write haiku poems.

She was a member of the Buddhist Church of Ogden, served many years on the board of the Buddhist Women's Association and was a member of the Utah Young Homemakers Association.

She helped Mas on their farm and also found employment as a nurse's aide,  Sperry/Univac and Mountain States Plants (Flint's Floral).

Surviving are her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and sister-in-law, Aiko Okada.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, two sisters, four sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law.

A private graveside service will be held at 10 am, Saturday May 1, 2021 at the Syracuse City Cemetery.
