Lorraine Jensen Beckstead

Lorraine Jensen Beckstead passed away at her home surrounded by her family on January 16, 2015. Lorraine was born on June 12, 1924 to Henry and Lillian Jensen in Ogden. She grew up with three brothers and one sister.

Lorraine attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. Mom met James Wilton Beckstead when she was 15 years old and four years later they were married on June 22, 1943. They were married for 50 wonderful years.

Lorraine worked at D.D.O. during World War II and retired from the IRS in 1984. Lorraine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and their good friends Don and LaVona. She loved spending time with her family. She liked to cross stitch, paint ceramics, watching Dancing with the Stars, reading, and loved watching Tigers Woods play golf.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Karen B. (Jim) Reeder, Ann B. (Mike) Pearson, and Christine B. Brian; brother, Ray E. Jensen; 7 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Brad James Stokes; great-grandson, Heston James Brian; two brothers, Arthur H. Jensen and William D. Jensen; sister, Ruth McKinstay; and several brother and sister-in-laws.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist Mortuary.
