Madlyn Eileen Lewis, “Maddie”, 74, of North Ogden, Utah, entered into eternity on April 2, 2017. She left this world peacefully in the presence of her family.
Maddie was born on December 1, 1942, in Lancaster, PA, the daughter of Robert Schaffer and Rose Marie Snyder. She grew up in Lancaster County, PA with her parents and younger brother, George Robert Snyder.
Maddie attended accounting courses at Weber State University and Park College to learn financial skills. She worked as an accountant at Hill Air Force Base for the ICBM Systems Group receiving numerous performance awards throughout her career. She retired in 2004 after 36 years of federal service.
Maddie had several interests that kept her busy after retirement. She golfed in women’s leagues for years and loved to travel. She was avid reader and esteemed the arts. She developed several artistic talents that allowed her to create stunning paintings and stain glass pieces. She was a collector by nature and had several collectible pieces and fine art.
Maddie is preceded in death by her parents, brother and youngest daughter, Judy Hawes.
She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Wagner (Randy) of West Point, UT, son, Brian Wade (Milly) of Clinton, UT, son-in-law, Randy Hawes of Plain City, UT and six grandchildren, Tiffany, Brianne, Rachelle, Ryan, Katie, and Brad.
