Marianne Chambers Mayfield

Marianne Chambers Mayfield, 73, passed away in her home on December 14, 2017 with her family by her side.  She was born on April 7, 1944 in Logan, Utah to James Lennis and Drue Archibald Chambers.

She was raised on the family farm in Trenton.  She graduated from Utah State University.  She married George Arthur Mayfield on June 22, 1966 in the Logan LDS Temple.  She taught Home Economics at Bonneville High School for several years and later was the director of the Sylvan Learning Center for 17 years.

Marianne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout her life.  She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband; four loving children: Lynette (Jeff) Saunders; Spencer (Consuela) Mayfield; Matt (Amanda) Mayfield; Marcy (Alan) Weatherston; and 12 grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Karren, Cindy White, Jayne Shupe, Teresa Chambers and Angela Chambers.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Susan Olcott.

The family would like to thank Dr V. Hansen and staff, Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for Utah for the wonderful care of Marianne during her last months.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the LDS North Ogden 3rd Ward Building, 386 East Elberta Drive, North Ogden.  Family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m at the church.
