MARK DEVERN JENSEN
JULY 23, 1957 ~ SEPTEMBER 5, 2021
Our beloved husband, father, “poopa”/grandpa, and best friend returned home peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 5, 2021. After battling cancer, Mark’s body grew tired, and he eventually succumbed peacefully in his home. He dedicated his life to serving his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege to know him.
Mark was born July 23, 1957 in Brigham City, Utah, to Darrell and Kay Jensen. In High School he met the love of his life, Frances (Fran) June Essler. After graduating, they wed on August 14, 1976. A year later, on August 23 were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for all time and eternity.
After college, Mark explored many different fields. Mark and Fran went on to raise four daughters: Nickol, Tori, Jordan, and McKenna. Mark also loved his grandchildren. Every one of his grandchildren considered themselves to have a special bond with their “poopa.” He loved spending his time with them and helped guide and teach them with love. He spent all his time going out of his way helping each one of them.
Mark enjoyed spending his time with family members and spending time at his cabin in the mountains above Oakley, Utah. He and Fran continued to enjoy traveling together and going on many road trips to the west coast. They resided in West Point, Utah where they were surrounded by their children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate Frances, all four of his daughters and their husbands; Nickol and Jared Hancock, Tori and Mike Davis, Jordan and Bronson Stephens, McKenna and Reggie Cutler. His grandchildren, his world, Maddison, Bridger, JJ, Chase, Leah, Dallon, Macie, Oliver and Milo.
Preceded in death by his father Darrell Jensen, sister Kathleen Folkman and brother-in-law Douglas K. Essler.
