After a long and courageous battle with cardiovascular disease, Michael J Murdock, beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and great papa completed his earthly journey on November 12, 2016 in the comfort of his own home.

He was born March 22, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to Dell C Murdock and Thea J Johns.

After a whirlwind romance, Mike married Judy Anne Jones on November 6, 1965 in Ogden, Utah. They enjoyed fifty-one years together.

Mike retired from Hill AFB after working thirty-eight years in the International Logistics program. He earned several awards and was recognized for his expertise.

Mike’s greatest joy was his family. He loved the great outdoors and taking the family boating, skiing, fishing and camping. Mike ensured his kids and grandkids all got to experience the magic of Disneyland. Mike also enjoyed working with his hands, he designed and built their last two homes and has always been there to help others with their home projects. His boys have carried on his legacy building and renovating their own homes.

Mike was always there for his family. You could always count on him whether it be for support, guidance, or an encouraging word. He will be greatly missed by his family. We love you.

Mike is survived by his wife Judy, children, Misty (Rob) Goss, Durk (Traci), Brett (Lori), seven grandchildren: Jessika and Carson, Chazney (Cory), Colton (Shay), and Bridger, and Cheyenne and Cooper, five great- grandchildren: Brenlee, Paizlee, Ayvree, Laiklyn, and Hayden and two on the way, one brother (Greg), and two sisters (Jackie and Judy). He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Steve Murdock, and one great-granddaughter, Acelyn Jo Christian.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
