Michael “Mike” Alan Skeen

June 3, 1976 ~ July 30, 2017

Michael “Mike” Alan Skeen passed away on July 30, 2017. He was born on June 3, 1976 in Roy, Utah to James Alan Skeen and Beth Jensen.

Mike attended Roy City Schools and graduated from Washington High in 1994.

Mike was a great cook and worked at the Officer’s Club at HAFB. He then went on to culinary arts school in Portland, Oregon. He worked for several restaurants in northern Utah, including Roosters in Ogden. For several years he also worked in San Francisco at Children’s Garden, a foster home where he cared for troubled youth. Later he became interested in the computer technology industry, earning certifications that helped him develop software for health care. He was working for Vorro Health at the time of his death. He was our “go to” guy who helped us with computer problems.

Mike played soccer in his younger years and as a member of the Roy All-Star team. He also loved to skateboard as a teenager, and he was a talented guitar player. He loved music and often DJ’ed at parties.

He was a cancer survivor.

Surviving are his fiancee, Krishna Kirkland of Layton, with her 5 children and 4 grand children; father, Jim Skeen of Ogden; mother, Beth (Pat) Patterson of Roy; brother, Tom (Morgan) Skeen of Tempe, AZ; one nephew, two nieces, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Zola Jensen and Jim and Clara Skeen; uncles Dennis Jensen and Bob Skeen, and aunt Delores Bone.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
