Patricia (Pat) Lorraine Meehan

Patricia (Pat) Lorraine Eversole Meehan, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015.

She was born on August 13, 1931 in Dixon, Wyoming to Elzie Earl and Emma Louisa Eversole. James E. McCord was her step-father.

Pat met the love of her life William (Bill) Meehan and they were married July 17, 1951.  They raised six children and traveled the country as a Marine Corp family, living in several locations including North Carolina, Arizona, California, Connecticut and residing in Utah.  Bill preceded Pat in death on September 10, 2014.

Pat was employed at the Layton High School Cafeteria and later became a published poet and author.

She is survived by her six children, Kathie Covington, Syracuse; Bill Jr. (Cheryl), West Point; Debbie Bemel, Syracuse; Jan (Paul) Donelan, Clinton; Joe (Shelley), Clinton; Mike (Becky), Syracuse; their large and loving family also includes 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Donald Eversole.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Sanford, Lee, Frank and Dale Eversole and sisters Lucille Hill and Etha Hiatt.

Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to Queenie Aydelott and Rocky Mountain Care for their compassionate care and support.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W., West Haven.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Inurnment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road to occur in the spring of 2016.
