Richard Scott Deeter

September 27, 1951 ~ July 20, 2015

Richard Scott Deeter “Rick” our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, returned to Heavenly Father on Monday, July 20, 2015.  He was born on September 27, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Robert and Georgina Deeter.  He graduated from Weber High School in 1969 and Weber State University.  He was proud to be an American and served honorably in the U. S. Army.  He married Lola Jean Ray on January 12, 1974.  They were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Rick was creative-innovative and very successful in his business endeavors.  He worked in upper management in numerous companies and was a natural leader with a strong work ethic, always striving for excellence.  He was an entrepreneur and built several businesses.

Rick’s greatest treasure was his family.  Making family memories and traditions were important.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed traveling, playing and watching sports, boating, camping, and spending time with family.  He was generous with his children, grandchildren and others and delighted in being a jokester and a tease.  Rick had a natural green thumb and enjoyed his beautiful flowers and yard.  He had a special love for his four legged friends and enjoyed the many hours they spent together.

Surviving is his wife, Jeanie Deeter; and three children, Jana (Shane) Sederholm; Julie (Travis) Cevering; and Blake (Krista) Deeter.  He was a wonderful grandfather who adored, cherished and loved his nine grandchildren, Cole, Makayla, and Kambree Sederholm; Trevor, Shalie and Ashlie Cevering; and Brooke, Audrey and Driggs Deeter; brothers, Ron and Barry Deeter, and sister Carol Godfrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Randy, his mother and father-in-law, Don and Lola Ray.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Mohr and his medical staff for the past fifteen years of outstanding and loving medical care.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 11a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
