Ronald J. Bailey

September 10, 1939 ~ September 13, 2016

Ronald J. Bailey, born on September 10, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016 surrounded by loved ones.

He married Merida B. Bird on August 25, 1962, and they spent 54 wonderful years together. She was his sweetheart. They enjoyed many activities, such as bowling, golfing, and wintering in Mesa, AZ.

AKA Mr. Grumpy pants, as the grandchildren would call him – were the light of his life. He would do anything for his grandchildren, even if he grumbled the entire time.

Ron loved the outdoors including fishing, hunting, camping, horses, and golfing.

Ron was an owner of the B&H Radiator for many years where he was an exceptional mechanic and welder. He took great pride in his work.

Ron touched many lives. Many of his children’s friends considered him a second father. Everyone who met Ron has a fond memory of him. Many considered him their best friend after meeting him only once. He loved every one of his friends dearly.

Ron is survived by his wife, Merida; sons, Rodney Kent (Cricket) Bailey and Kevin Todd (Tina) Bailey; as well as grandchildren who he adored, Kent (Jenn), Dyllan (Mitch), Riley Jo, Christian, and Kearstyn (Colton); sister, Dixie (Ed) Nielsen; brothers, Richard (Susan) and Terry (Reva) Bailey; and special friend of over 45 years, Rick Hurt. He was preceded in death by both parents and great-grandson, Luke.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at  Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
