Sandra Morrill Nash

October 19, 1938 – January 27, 2017

Sandra Morrill Nash, 78, was born on October 19, 1938 in Kanab, Utah to William Dellos and Laurie Meeks Morrill.  Sandra passed away from pneumonia and other complications on January 27, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Sandra grew up in Pleasant Grove, Utah in a large and loving family.  She had many interests, among which was journalism.  On September 7, 1956, she married her sweetheart, Blaine Elynn Nash, in the Salt Lake Temple.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings, among which were Relief Society instructor and Young Women’s advisor.

She was employed for about 30 years at Hill Air Force Base.  After retiring, she worked part-time for Gibbs Smith Publisher for several years.  Sandra carried on raising her family after her husband died on May 28, 1985.  She was a strong and courageous woman.

Sandra loved her family and was devoted to them.  She loved to spend time with them.  She was a wonderful influence for good in their lives.  She will be greatly missed!

Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine E. Nash, her parents, brothers Wenzel, Phyl, and Lindon Morrill, and brother-in-laws LeGrande Beckstrom, Ken Beckstrom, and Rod Davenport.

Sandra is survived by her children Mike Nash, Nola (Dan) Christenson, Deanna Nielsen, Brad (Debbie) Nash, Andrew (Michelle) Nash, and Natalie (Eric) Wanner; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters Colleen Beckstrom, Karon Beckstrom, Linda (Carl) Hansen, and Venetta Davenport; brother Rondall (Gayla) Morrill; sister-in-laws Millie Morrill and Lynette Morrill.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses, aids, and doctors at the Fairfield Village Rehabilitation Center and at Davis Hospital and Medical Center for their kind and loving care given to Sandra.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Holmes Creek Stake Center, 125 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, American Fork Cemetery, 600 N. Center Street, American Fork, Utah.
