Scott James Mortenson, 32, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018.  He was born on October 16, 1985 to Paul James Mortenson and Lori Peterson Anderson in Ogden, Utah.  He was raised in Roy and Plain City, Utah and graduated with honors from Fremont High School in 2004.

He served an LDS Spanish speaking mission to Carlsbad, California from 2004 to 2006.  He then attended Utah State University where he earned an Associate’s Degree.  He graduated from the DATC Architectural and Engineering Design Program.  He enjoyed his career at Price Engineering where he was a draft designer.

Scott enjoyed running, snowboarding, hiking, fishing, and biking.  He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, who adored him. He will be greatly missed.

Scott  is survived by his mother, Lori Peterson Anderson (Dean); siblings Michael Mortenson (Kira), Jan Hafer (Spencer), Brian Anderson (Heidi), Tammy Reynolds (Greg), Cristy Poppleton (Jeremie) Marcie Hill, Aleshia Gibby, and Trisha Anderson. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Merlene Peterson and Jackie Mortenson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul James Mortenson; his sister, Sara Mortenson; and grandfathers, Ray Peterson and Ray Mortenson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at the Plain City Sixth Ward, 2280 North 3600 West.  The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
