Teresa Alberts

Without a doubt there was a surprise party in Heaven on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. It would have been a multi-themed princess, birthday, luau, superhero, graduation, firework popping party in Heaven for Teresa as she returned to her heavenly home from her earthly mission. Teresa Lou Alberts was called to serve the Utah mission being born to Connie and Earl Sherman on July 3 1955. It was surely no coincidence she planned to be one day early for the 4th of July fireworks.

She was raised in Riverdale with her three brothers and three sisters. She met her sweetheart, Scott Alberts and they were married July 12, 1974 in the Logan Temple. They spent the first half of their lives together in Magna where they welcomed five children, and later moved to their lifelong home in South Weber.

Teresa recently retired after 32 years of work at OC Tanner where she made many great and wonderful friends. She served in many capacities and callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Celebrations with her family of all kinds would become the focus and highlights of her life. Like most of us, this earthly mission has come with many challenges that have been extremely difficult to bear. The Lord in his great mercy wanted to call her home 13 years ago. Undoubtedly, He heard our desperate pleas and knew how much we still needed her and answered our prayers with a "mission extension" and she was blessed with a kidney transplant. As miraculous as it was, and as grateful as we will always be for that blessing, it was difficult to realize that sometimes aftermarket parts don't always work as well as the factory originals. It was not an easy extra 13 years for her but the blessings to her family will echo for generations as she raised the bar of what it meant to be the world's most amazing grandma. She got to meet, greet, love and embrace each and every grandchild that she had! She was a woman of great faith and had a deep testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She could always be found serving and caring for everyone around her. She was as sweet as she was stubborn. When she laughed, she laughed hard enough that everyone else laughed too.

Teresa is preceded in death by her father, two sisters; Marlene Speigle and Alane Kingsford, brother-in-law Mark Brierley, nephew Timothy, and infant son Kevin. She is survived by her eternal companion, Scott, her mother, Connie,  siblings, Kathy Brierley, Lenoard (Donna) Sherman, Blain (Karen) Sherman, Clinton (Jackie) Sherman, her children, Jaron (Amber) Alberts, Tristen (Dave) Miller, Brandon (Hayley) Alberts and Camille (Will) Stewart, and her grandchildren, Trinity, Kylee, (Thomas), Mason, Jeremiah, Alexia, Bentley, Kade, Boston, Gage, Hudson, Parker and Harmony.

Her example will ripple forward in time like the endless waves of the sea. She had the ability to create magic that will be never be forgotten by those who were blessed to experience it. Going forward in this life without her is nearly more than we can bear. Our prayer, is that as her family, we are able to pick up the magical torch she lit for us and carry it forward. Teresa we love you and rejoice in knowing you're free of all suffering.

In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help cover funeral costs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Teresa will be laid to rest following the services at the Hooper Cemetery.
