Virginia Stone

March 25, 1945 — January 11, 2021

Virginia Ann Moss Stone passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2021 at the age of 75 from natural causes. At her passing she was surrounded by family at her side. She passed from the love of many here on earth to the love of many in heaven.

Ann was born on March 25, 1945 in Ogden, Utah to Hugh and Virginia Moss. She was the fifth of six children. She grew up in Layton, Utah where she lived most of her life before moving down the road to Syracuse, Utah where she currently resided.

On September 1, 1961, she married the love of her life, Terry Stone. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on August 20, 1991. Together they had four children.

She was member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was being a Primary Teacher which she faithfully served as for many, many years.

She enjoyed camping, playing family games, puzzles, gardening, canning, cooking Sunday dinner for the family, and being an Elvis fan. Nothing brought her greater joy than being around family. When her children or grandchildren were participating in any activity, she always loved being there to support them.

She was a professional Grandma. Her grandkids were her passion in life. She was the proud grandma of nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren (with one on the way) in addition to many extended grandchildren. They will always remember the countless sleepovers, Easter egg hunts, birthday parties, and holiday gatherings. She saved the newspaper on each grandchild’s birthday each year and gave the bundle of papers to them on their 18th birthday.  There is a special place in their hearts for grandma’s crocheted Christmas blankets, Christmas advent calendars, and the page long notes handwritten on each birthday card.

She is survived by her husband Terry; children Scott (Carol) Stone, Chris Stone, Robert Stone and Melissa (Lance) Pooler and daughters-in-law Kristen and KaLonni; grandchildren Brianna (Eric) McKinney, Erica (Brook) Miller, Zack (Brooke) Pooler, Ashley (Evan) Hermansen, Brayden Stone, Julie (Stephen) Smith, Katie Stone, and Brooklynn Stone; great-grandchildren Emily, Hyrum, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Charlie, Sophie, Paisley, and one on the way; and brother Lloyd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Wallace and Darrell, sisters Shirley and Erma, and her sweet granddaughter Jessica.

The hole left in our hearts can only be filled with memories of her service, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
