William Scott Russell, 78, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  He was born on October 10, 1938 in Ogden, Utah.  William served in the Air Force in 1964.  He earned his Bachelor in Sociology.

He married Marti Gessell on November 2, 1988 in Ogden, Utah.

Scott worked as a social worker for Utah State Job Services. He loved everything about life especially golfing with his son and friends. Scott never met a stranger and was always the first one to help those in need.

Scott is survived by his wife, Marti; son, Scotty (Gina) Russell; daughters, Christina Burak, Meghan (Doug) Johnson, Nicole (Robert) McAfee, and Melissa Brenkman; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Angela) Russell and Jeff Russell; sisters, Pennie (Dave) Powell and Maggie (Clark) Roberts.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Margaret Russell; brothers, Marvin and Roger Russell.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held for close family and friends at El Monte Golf Course, 1300 Valley Dr., Ogden, following the graveside services from 3 to 6 p.m.
