William Jay (Bill) Seaver, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Syracuse, Utah, on March 5, 2019 with his loving wife Ruth at his side. Bill was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on March 17, 1931, to William K. Seaver and Erma Catherine Gessel. He was the second of six children and the only son. His family moved to Logan, Utah, where he grew up. He attended Logan High School where he met the love of his life, Ruth M. Bonnell. They were married on April 5, 1950, and have been together for nearly 69 years. They were married for all eternity on July 6, 1976 in the Logan Temple.
Bill was an electrician by trade and owned his own electrical contracting business for many years. Seaver Electric and Bill Seaver were held in the highest regard all along the Wasatch Front. Bill was known for his integrity and work ethic which he passed on to his children.
From the time he was a child, Bill loved fishing and the outdoors. He spent as much time as he could with his family and friends enjoying the peaceful surrounding of mountains, streams and lakes. He especially loved spending time with his family in the cabin he built for them near Bear Lake.
Bill and Ruth have been blessed with eight wonderful children, 43 grandchildren and 97 great-grandchildren, all of whom will never forget Grandpa’s fun loving personality and generous spirit. They raised their children in Layton, Clearfield and West Point, Utah before moving in their retirement years to Syracuse, Utah.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three of his five sisters, and his daughters Cathy McCrary and Sherry. He is survived by his wife Ruth, sons Jay (Annette) and Robert (Jodi) and daughters Jana (Rocky) Schofield, Mary Lynn (Steve) Thurgood, Jennifer (Rob) Burton and Kristin (Lance) Kippen, sisters Cindy Sena, Susan (Bob) Parker, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jensen Park Ward Building, 3024 S. 1200 W., Syracuse, Utah. Friends may visit family Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Logan Cemetery.
