Winona P. Robinson

March 7, 1922 ~ March 5, 2014

Winona P. Robinson passed away peacefully and was reunited with her sweetheart on March 5, 2014 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home two days before she was to turn 92 and the day 42 years ago when she was made a grandma.

She was born on March 7, 1922, the first daughter to Raymond and Florence Preece in Lewiston, UT.  Her mother passed away when she was six.  Her father remarried Selma Miller.  She graduated from North Cache High School.

Winona met and married Howard L. Robinson on December 10, 1940 in her grandmother’s home in Lewiston, UT.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.  After moving to Ogden, UT she worked for several retail stores until she got a job with First Security Bank as a Teller which she retired from.  Mom and Dad built a home in South Ogden where they resided for 60 years.  Mom was a wonderful homemaker.  She loved to cook, sew, crochet, quilt, cross-stitch, and work alongside dad in the garden.

She belonged to a Pinnacle club, sewing club, and Daughters of Utah Pioneers.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as Primary President, Relief Society President, and a faithful Visiting Teacher.  Her most rewarding and cherished calling was serving in the Ogden LDS Temple as an ordinance worker for 5 years.

Winona is survived by two loving daughters, Peggy (Kirk) and Joyce (Lloyd); four grandchildren, Robby (Lisa), Ryan (Amanda), Stefani (Braxton), and Spencer; ten great-grandchildren, Kaity, Jaci, Brock, Kolten, Logan, Carter, Sydney, Madison, Taisley, and Asher; two sisters, and four brothers.

She was preceded in death by her sweetheart, Howard L. “Duck”; three grandchildren, Cody, Allison, and Rodney; her parents, and three brothers.
