Alva Leon Crezee, 66, passed away Monday, July 6, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born January 18, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Alva Leroy and Helen H. Vanderwoude Crezee.
He joined the U.S Army at age 17 and served in Vietnam as an E-7.
Leon met and married Regina in Germany and they had two beautiful sons, Dan Crezee and Bobby Crezee. They were later divorced. He met and married Sherry MacKenzie, and added three children to their family.
He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired. He then began work at the IRS and retired from there also.
Leon was an active member of the Ogden Aerie Eagles and American Legion. He enjoyed camping and socializing with his many friends.
He is survived by his former wife, Sherry; a son Dan (Robyn) Crezee and their daughter, Kayla; a stepson, Greg (Lisa) MacKenzie, two step-daughters, Tammy (Don) Mogensen, Leslie (Dave) Valdez; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennis (Ann) Crezee, Raymond Crezee, three sisters, Darlene (Dean) Stevens, Renae (Gary) Hackwell , Janae (Ray) Waters; and an aunt, Arlene Collard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bobby.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 10th at 10 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 2300 West 5200 South, where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call Thursday, July 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and the nurses who gave Leon such loving care also a special thanks to the two gentlemen who gave Leon a blessing.
