A Kay George

January 11, 1943 — June 21, 2022

A. Kay George

January 11, 1943 ~ June 21, 2022

WASHINGTON TERRACE–A. Kay George, our sweet and brave mom, wife, grandma and friend, passed at the age of 79 on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. She is now free from the disabilities that Parkinson’s Disease gave her body. She battled bravely without complaint for 25 years and stayed with us longer than we ever expected her to.

Kay was also a two-time breast cancer survivor. Through it all she was kind to everyone she met. She had a great sense of humor and a shy, sweet smile.

Kay was born January 11, 1943, in Ogden to Lance and Aleene Wheelwright. She was the youngest of three children joining her brother Bob and sister Evelyn. Her growing up years were spent in the Ogden area graduating from Bonneville High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Ray George, in 1961 and together they had two children, Jennifer and Lance.

Kay worked in business administration for 39 years, retiring from Boeing after 20 years. Some of Kay’s loves were boating and camping with her family and friends, antiquing, and most of all spoiling her grandchildren. She also enjoyed seeing musicals on stage and touring historic homes in the Ogden area. Her family meant the world to her.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Kay is survived by her children, Jennifer George and Lance (Crista) George; six grandchildren, Ashley (Chase), Josh (Holly), Jade (Alex), Stephanie, Logan (Holley) and Austin (Shandee). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister.

The family would like to thank her lifelong friend, Celia Rodriguez, for visiting her often and tending to her needs. We would also like to thank Legacy House of Ogden for their great care, especially the aids that took care of her over the years. A special thanks to Alisha and Tammy with Inspiration Hospice for all they have done for Kay and her family.
