Aaron Toone
1975-2014
Aaron Toone passed away on April 19, 2014 in Heber, Utah from an accident involving a favorite hobby, drift-triking.
Aaron was the third son born to DeVon A Toone and Mary Ellen Layton Toone on March 21, 1975 in Bountiful, Utah. Excepting a brief three years in Ballwin, Missouri as a child, he lived the majority of his life in southern Davis County. Aaron was a handful immediately, making his desire for action, adventure, and daring fun known right away! Drift-triking was a recent discovery, but before that he would motorcycle the Centerville hills. Even before that, he had his bicycle. There is no doubt he kept his guardian angels working overtime!
Aaron was a mechanic by trade, but also a mechanic at heart. Full of imagination and artistry, he was always designing and building original things, from Lego tanks to real, life-size vehicles and everything in between. It was his passion. Yet he was also known to relish the destruction of some of his creations by firecrackers or bow and arrows just as much! Aaron’s talent may have been his mechanical creativity, but his genius was the generosity with which he used his skills to bless the lives of others. More than one family member or friend can vouch for this! If anybody ever needed anything, he would be there. Another of Aaron’s favorite pastimes was going to the shooting range with his family and friends. They loved to talk guns and practice their marksmanship together.
Aaron was ever kind and gentle—a peaceful soul. And although becoming a father was arguably the biggest shock to this free spirit’s life, it has been, without a doubt, the most rewarding. Aaron’s two wonderful children, Jacob (15) and Allie Jo (12) were a source of great joy to him and he to them. Now they are his legacy. Aaron will be fondly remembered by those who knew him for his sense of humor, his mild, easy-going nature, and his willingness to serve without thought of reward. “Aaron, it is so difficult to accept that you are gone… You will be missed! We love you!”
Aaron is survived by his children, Jacob and Allie Jo Toone; Billie Jo Toone, former wife; Melisa Toone, former wife; Mary Ellen Layton Toone, mother; DeVon A Toone and Marie Toone, father and step-mother; Helen Gunn Layton, grandmother; and siblings Adam Toone (LauraLee), Marcy Jewett, Valerie Fauver (Jordan), Joshua Toone (Karin), Calvin Russell (Heather), Mikayla Toone.
