Aaron “Bear” Pike Briggs
June 9, 1987 ~ May 23, 2018
Aaron "Bear" Pike Briggs, 30, of Syracuse, UT, unexpectedly departed this life at the Davis Hospital on Wednesday, May 23, at 3:17 a.m. due to complications from acute pancreatitis.
Aaron was born June 9, 1987, in Layton, UT, to loving parents Neal and Caroline (Pike) Briggs. Aaron fell in love with the family farm and from a young age enjoyed playing in the dirt and riding tractors. In his words, "I'm thankful to live here and to be born into this livelihood that has molded me into the man I am today. But with this blessing, comes a great responsibility to take care of this land so that it can continue to provide for future generations." Just before his admittance to the hospital, he was out on a tractor working the land he loved.
Aaron "was a good mate" to his farm buddy and father Neal. He loved spending time with his loved ones outdoors - whether golfing, hunting, snowboarding, motor biking, or walking Pike in the morning - and didn't feel it was a good snowboarding season if he didn't have some scars to show for it. He loved watching and talking sports, especially his BYU Cougars and the Utah Jazz. Aaron loved and cared about those around him and made many close friends that will miss his golden heart and his gift for seeing past the exterior of those around him and into their hearts. This ability to love and care for others was a testament to the Savior that he knew and loved. He loved the Prophet Joseph Smith, and believed in the power of prayer and his Heavenly Father's love for him and those around him.
Aaron is survived by parents Neal and Caroline; brother Dan and his wife Karen; brother Jake and his wife Christy; sister Beth and her husband Brendan; sister Annie and her husband Blake; along with 6 nephews and 4 nieces who will miss their favorite uncle. Aaron was preceded in death and greeted on the other side of the veil by 4 dear grandparents (Lawrence and Helen Briggs, Frank and DarThel Pike) and a brother, Joshua, who died before Aaron was born and we know will keep Aaron good company while he waits for the rest of us. Aaron is also survived by his dog and best friend, Pike, and several International Harvester tractors that will miss him in the driver's seat.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Huckleberry Ward church building, 1285 S. 2500 W. Syracuse, Utah.
