Ada Georgia Wilson Byrne

April 1, 1914 ~ May 15, 2014

Ada G. Byrne passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the age of 100 years old.  She was born in Brigham City, Utah to William Lyman and Bertha Sophia Hjort Wilson on April 1, 1914. She was raised in Brigham City where she attended school before moving to Ogden.

She married John James Byrne and together they had 9 children. John passed away on June 23, 1967.

Ada was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mom was a wonderful cook and loved watching her grandchildren.  Ada enjoyed doing ceramics with her sister, Della and playing Bonco.

Ada is survived by sons, James (Barbara) and Lewis (Kim); daughters, Sherry Stewart, Bonnie Christian, Patricia (Roger) Edwards, and Ada Wise; 37 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren and sister, Della Creech.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Byrne; daughters, Donna Shafer and Shirley Willis; son, John Byrne; brothers, Laron and Lymon; and sisters, Silvia, Elsie, Doris, and Leah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
