Ada Emily “Nana” Vest Taylor
Ada Emily “Nana” Vest Taylor, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011 six days short of her 97th birthday. She was born on November 30, 1914 to Edward David Edwin and Mary Jane Ann Morley Vest in Parker, Idaho. She was the 10th of 11 children. Ada grew up in Ogden and attended Ogden High School.
She married the love of her life, Leon Harold Taylor, on November 9, 1933 in Brigham City. In 1963, they were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters and one son. Leon passed away in 1975.
Ada was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions. She spent many hours working for the LDS Church extraction program.
Mom was a loving mother and “Nana” who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to read.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Taylor Wright, Marilyn Taylor Corbridge, and Lynda Taylor Jenson, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, son-in-law Joseph S. Wright, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or an education program of your choice.
