Adele Morasse
CLINTON - Adele Hodgson Butters Morasse passed away Monday, August 3, 2009.
She was born June 29, 1923 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah, the daughter of Leslie Simmons Hodgson and Louie Maud Taylor Hodgson.
She married Benjamin G. Midgley Jr. April 5, 1944. They were later divorced. On August 22, 1969, she married Arthur Earl Butters in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Earl passed away March 25, 1988. On January 25, 1992, Adele married Albert J. Morasse. Albert preceded her in death.
Adele attended Ogden High School and graduated from Weber College in Ogden, Utah in 1943 as the Highest Honor Student.
She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, and Mutual Improvement Association. She spent many years in Genealogical work.
Adele enjoyed playing the organ and piano and painting portraits, landscapes and seascapes in oils, watercolors, and pastels.
Surviving are her six children, Kathleen Midgley, Columbus, Ohio; Janice E. (Denny) Smith, Mims, Florida; Ralph B. (Deborah) Midgley, Salt Lake City, Utah; Paul R. (Betty) Midgley of West Jordan, Utah; and Julie I. (Stan) Stuart and Michael A. (Susan) Midgley, both of Morgan, Utah. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one sister, Lulu Homer, Salt Lake City.
Preceding her in death were her father, mother, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
