Afton R. Morton
RIVERDALE - Afton R. Morton, 92, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at her home in Riverdale. She has now returned home to her beloved husband who she has missed dearly.
She was born July 23, 1915 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, a daughter of Edmond and Vilate Dean Smith Rodeback.
On October 9, 1940, Afton married Alfred William Morton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2001.
Afton was a resident of Riverdale for 42 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Afton loved gardening in her flower beds at home and traveling through the mountains. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and quilting things to give to her children and grandchildren. Family was the most important thing in her life.
Surviving are four children, Karen (Marvin) Richardson, Monticello, UT; Arlene Morton, Riverdale; Laurel (Leon) Hay, Kansas; Gary A. (Carol) Morton, Ogden; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
