Afton Webster Udall
August 3, 1922 – April 23, 2017
KAYSVILLE – Afton Webster Udall, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away at age 94 of causes incident to age. She was born August 3, 1922 in Kaysville, Utah to Wilford and Julia Boerens Webster.
Afton learned to work hard as she grew up on the family farm. She attended Kaysville Elementary School and went on to graduate from Davis High School in 1940. She worked at Hill Air Force Base for four years during World War II and then accepted a call to serve in the Texas-Louisiana Mission. She attended Utah State and BYU. She married Reed Smoot Udall on June 21, 1949.
Afton loved to travel and visited many countries and states. She was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in many capacitates, her favorite being in the Primary where she served for twenty years. She was a member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked at the University of Utah School of Medicine and then spent twenty-five years working in the Davis County Clerk’s Office when she retired in 1987.
Afton is survived by two children: Reed Dean (Pat) Udall, Clinton, Utah and Gary Lynn (Linda) Udall of Sebring, Florida. She has three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother; Beverly Call, Ogden, UT Mary Cook and Dee Webster of Layton, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and five sisters, Wanda, Irma, Marjorie, Dorothy and JoAnn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary 400 N. Main St. Friends may visit with family from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery 500 E. Crestwood Rd.
