Afton Ann Hartley Wilson

Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 from Alzheimers disease.
Afton Ann Hartley Wilson was born on December 22, 1929 to Cyril and Lillian Hartley in Ogden, Utah. She attended Madison Elementary, Central Jr. High and was a graduate of Ogden High School class of 1948. She worked at Hill Air Force Base after her graduation.
Afton married Wilbur D. Wilson on May 11, 1951 in Laramie, WY. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 23, 1952.
Afton and Wilbur moved to Austin, TX where she worked for the University of Texas in the Payroll dept. while Wilbur attended school. Following his graduation, Afton and her husband lived in Roswell NM, Dallas, Houston, and Midland TX. They returned to Ogden to retire in 1995 and also enjoyed many years in Yuma, AZ as snowbirds.
Afton truly enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Afton was a talented seamstress, artist, and shopper. She loved doing for others and was always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear.
Afton is survived by her husband, Wilbur D. Wilson; daughter, Diane Hansen; grandchildren, Nicholas Craven, Rachelle Johnson, and Cari Thompson; seven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care and attention given to Afton by Hearts for Hospice and Legacy House Cottage.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
