Aileen Kelso Chiono
SOUTH WEBER a" Aileen M. Kelso Chiono, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2009.
Aileen was born September 11, 1921 in Lodi, California, to Jacob Charles Kelso and Jessie Garrigan Kelso. She attended school at Santa Clara High School. Aileen married Dominic "Bud" Chiono, August 26, 1940. Bud and Aileen were the owners of Warburton''s Tamales of Santa Clara, California from 1942 a" 1980.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Ed) Smith, South Weber, UT; Catherine (Richard) Cortez, Rocklin, CA. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard (Isabelle) Kelso, Santa Clara, CA; Frank Kelso, Richmond, VA; and sister-in-law, Ilse (Chad) Kelso, Soquel, CA. Aileen is survived by 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dominic "Bud" Chiono, her son, Terry G. Chiono, one great-granddaughter, one great-great-grandson. Aileen was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald E. Kelso and Chad Kelso.
She was an avid crafter with a great sense of humor but mostly she will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. She spent many years doing charitable work, including making quilts for AIDS and drug babies at the local hospitals. For many summers, Bud and Aileen took truck loads of clothing and household items to the villages of Mexico. They helped the families in the villages of Mexico get established in their own businesses.
Aileen was a member of the Roy Christian Church. Their members have been so attentive with visits to her while she resided at Manor Care Nursing Center. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to Access Home Care & Hospice in Ogden, UT. Their many hours of help at Pat''s home and Manor Care have been a blessing. Without them, Mom''s last days would not have been as pleasant and restful as they were.
Funeral services and burial will take place this spring in the Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery, Santa Clara, California.
Funeral Directors, Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
