Aileen Shizuko Kano
Aileen Shizuko Kano passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the age of 98 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mountian View California to Densuke and Hatsu Kunihiro. She married Ray I. Kano and had six children, Lillian, Raymond, Lyman, Calvin, Ivin and Arlene. Ray passed away in 1986.
Aileen was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She worked hard on the farm for many years and then proceeded to work for Stoker Nursery and Kano’s Nursery for many years. She had the uncanny ability to grow and make flowers look so beautiful. She was an avid supporter of the Lady Lions Club of Syracuse. She looked forward to their monthly meetings and participating in all of their fund raising and service activities.
Aileen is survived by her children: Lillian (George) Tomimoto, Raymond, Lyman (Carol), Calvin (Sharon), Ivin (Pat), and Arlene (Rick) Aoki. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogden Buddhist Temple, 155 North St. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Brighton Hospice, Dr. Patel, Nurse Alise, Kassie, Leta, Sunny, Karla, Mallory and the staff at Chancellor Gardens for the care they gave our mother.
