Alaire Young Hart
1915 – 2014
KAYSVILLE, UT – Alaire Young Hart, 98, died Friday, January 31, 2014 at her home in Kaysville surrounded by family. Alaire was born on July 25, 1915 in Driggs, Idaho to George Spencer Young and Martha Rigby Young. She was the twelfth of thirteen. Her early years were spent in Driggs and Coltman, Idaho.
On October 20, 1939 she married Alfred B. Hart in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Bloomington, Idaho for many years and raised their family there. Later they moved to Kaysville and spent summers in Bloomington. Alaire has now joined her husband Alfred who passed away on August 26, 1996.
Alaire was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions in the church over the years. She attended church meetings up to the last week of her life and loved studying and learning. She was very proud of her pioneer ancestors and was an active member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
Alaire had numerous hobbies and interests in her life, including sewing, crocheting and making quilts. Each one made with love. She had a gift of seeing the good in others and loved all of her family and friends and they loved her. She wrote letters to family, friends and missionaries throughout her life, always expressing her “perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men.”
She is survived by her sister Florence Taylor, Kennewick, WA, and in-laws Doug and Bonnie Hart, Logan, UT, Jean Hart, Bountiful, UT, Norma Anderson, San Lorenzo, CA, also her nine children: Linda (Glade) Booth, Murray, UT, Joan Hart, Kaysville, Marian (James) Aland, Farr West, UT, Colin (Linda) Hart, Kaysville, Karma (Ken) Taylor, Idaho Falls, ID, Rand (Lynn) Hart, Indianapolis, IN, Robert (Carol) Hart, Kaysville, Neal (Karen) Hart, Kaysville, and Deena Cook, Providence, UT. Her survivors include 48 grandchildren and 112 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Dr. James Hart, Greg Murray, Cathy and all at the IHC Hospice for compassionate treatment and care.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Kaysville Rock Chapel, 23 South 200 East, Kaysville. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street.
Interment, Bloomington Idaho Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Family and friends will meet after at the Bloomington City Hall.
