Alan L. Jorgensen
HARRISVILLE - Alan L. Jorgensen passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 20, 2009 leaving us all too soon. Alan was born in Preston, Idaho on September 18, 1953. After graduating from Weber High in 1971 he served an LDS mission to the Philippines. He married Kristin Moyes in the Ogden Temple on April 16, 1976.
Alan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings, both in the ward and stake.
He worked at Richards Sheet Metal as a journeyman union sheet metal worker for 30 years.
Alan loved golf, cycling, working on his cars, taking care of his beautiful yard, running marathons, going on cruises, officiating Big Sky Track meets, and attending Weber State football and basketball games as a member of the Weber State Wildcat Club. He also loved throwing the ball for his dog, Jade.
Surviving are his beautiful wife Kristin; three sons Craig, Ted, and Jon; his parents Cec and LaRae; his brother and two sisters Nick (Kim) Jorgensen, Marcea (Tom) Lindgren, Nancy (John) Whitaker; mother and father in-law Jay and Ann Moyes; two brothers in-law Jay (Gerrie) Moyes and Mitch Moyes; two future daughters in-law Roxy and Courtney; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends; and his adoring granddaughter Katie.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Harrisville 7th Ward Chapel, 1650 North 400 West.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made in his name to the LDS humanitarian fund.
