Albert Boyd Brown
April 9, 1969 ~ December 13, 2014
“Gone Fishin’ with Dad”
Albert Boyd Brown, affectionately known as “Abby” to those who loved him best, lost his final battle on December 13, 2014 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, after 15 years of debilitating illness.
He was born on April 9, 1969 in Ogden, Utah, the youngest child, and only son of Boyd Julian Brown (deceased) and Georgia Ann Kapp. He graduated from Weber High School in 1987.
Albert enlisted in the Marine Corps before he graduated, traveling the world, and serving his country during Desert Storm (the Gulf War). He was a highly decorated Marine when he was honorably discharged on September 27, 1995.
He was married briefly. The marriage produced his beloved daughter, Kaylene Kathryn whom he adored.
He loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors in general. During his illness he developed a passion for genealogy. He loved exploring the Brown Family history and sharing the “skeletons in the closet” with family and friends. As an official “Santa’s Helper”, he enjoyed bringing smiles and happiness to little ones everywhere when he stepped in for the “Man in the Sleigh”.
As his final gift, he donated his beautiful blue eyes to allow someone else to see the world as he did.
Albert is survived by his mother, Georgia; two sisters, Terri Peek (Kelly) of Plain City; and Juliann Chapman (Daryn Bundy) of Harrisville; and his daughter, Kaylene Kathryn Brown (Parker) of Clarksville, TN; nieces, Brianna Peek, Alyne Peek, and Baleigh Chapman; nephews, Nathaniel Brown, Jeffrey Chapman, Trevor Chapman, Patric Peek, Gabriel Peek, and many great-nieces and nephews that love their “Uncle Bobby”.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of McKay Dee Hospital, Ogden Regional Hospital, Northview Fire Department and the Veteran’s Hospital for all of the care he received for the past 15 years. Special thanks to Scott Robertson and Val Kunzler.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
